Renata Carosone
“TORERO
“
(RENATO CAROSONE)
Capitol 71080
No. 18 June 2, 1958
.
..
Nothing is known of Mr. Carosone; ok, a smudge. Moments after Renata’s sole intrusion into the
U. S. charts, Julius LaRosa’s cover version of this other universe-sounding instrumental entered the
Billboard
listings (#21, 1958). “Torero” would be Renata’s only contender and the last of the seven
chartings for LaRosa, the Italian crooner familiar to TV viewers of the then-popular “Arthur Godfrey
and His Friends.”
