They were no Sonny & Cher; nor April Stevens & Nino Tempo. In fact, were it not for the fluke flight of
their one tame tune, Gino (b. Aristedes/aka Harry Giosasi) and Gina (b. Irene) Giosasi, the brother-
and-sister team from Brooklyn, might only be known today for their tangential relationship to the hit
“Sorry (I Ran All the Way Home).” Gino Giosasi and Artie Zwirn, Gino & Gina’s manager, wrote the
song for THE IMPALAS and hooked the youngsters up with MGM’s Cub subsidiary.
.
The two Gs had a few more 45s issued by Mercury and in 1961 by Brunswick. Gino, possibly in 1960 or
so, tried for a solo bid with something called “Hand Clappin’ Time.” If the siblings had kept “Sorry” for
themselves, it is possible that their fading names could have been absent from this book.
